Professional growth is accelerated during the first decade of your career. You build networks, learn new habits, and apply skills that you will rely on for the rest of your life. During this time you make the transition from university student to industry professional.

During the 2014 The Next Wave Program, we will come together with seasoned industry leaders and young professionals to learn how to make the most of the first 10 years of our careers. What can we do to build a strong network? How can we maintain that network? How do we set ourselves apart from our peers in a competitive environment? How do we leverage mentoring and build career success?

The program will address topics central to everyone’s career planning from employer expectations to effective networking. For the first time, our panel session has been remodeled into an Empire session where the discussion will climb a pyramid as we take you through three journeys: Your Beginning: The First Five Years; Your Recognition: Five to Ten Years; and Your Acceleration: Ten Years and Beyond.

After an Empire speaker, we will move to our roundtable discussions. The breakouts encourage interactive sharing, allowing an opportunity to discuss and explore career development options and common themes with thought leaders and peers on a variety of focused topics. Participants will focus on the three levels of their career, so expect great question and answer sessions and discussions. By planning, we succeed and ensure we do not leave our careers to chance. Join The Next Wave for networking and leave with a new perspective.
